Configure a kiosk

View of the 'configuration' page

Each Tsedasmart donation kiosk opens as a tab in the Kiosks page. Inside, a single form gathers everything that appears on the donor's screen: the Shabbat video, the wallpaper, the emergency button, the quick donation amounts and the displayed funds. This page explains each setting.

Open the form

  1. 1

    User menu β†’ Kiosks

Click on your avatar at the top right, then on Kiosks.

  2. 2

    Select the kiosk's tab

If you have several kiosks, each has its own tab β€” click on the one you want to configure.

  3. 3

    Edit the settings

The form appears with the current values. Modify what you need.

  4. 4

Validate at the bottom of the form

Validate button β€” the configuration is sent to the kiosk and applied at the next connection.

The seven available settings

1. Shabbat wallpaper (video)

Shabbat wallpaper selector: eight pre-recorded videos (numbered Type 1 to Type 8) that the kiosk broadcasts during Shabbat and Yom Tov. When selecting, a video preview appears live next to the selector, letting you see precisely what your congregants will see before validating.

Choose an ambience consistent with the spirit of your venue (Shabbat candles, landscape, calligraphy, Jerusalem scene…).

2. Automatic Shabbat mode

Activate Shabbat mode automatically toggle. Three possible uses:

  • Enabled: the kiosk switches by itself to video mode at the start of Shabbat and Yom Tov, and returns to normal mode at the end, according to your organization's schedules.
  • Disabled: the kiosk stays in normal mode permanently (useful if you do not want Shabbat mode, or if you handle the switch manually by other means).

3. Custom wallpaper

Custom wallpaper field with an image upload component. This is the background that appears in normal mode (outside Shabbat), behind the donation buttons and the list of funds.

Recommendations:

  • Landscape format (the kiosk screen is horizontal).
  • Image readable with a dark overlay: the buttons display on top, avoid backgrounds that are too busy in the center.
  • Community logo at the top left or as a discreet watermark.

If you put nothing, the default Unisoft background applies.

4. Emergency button

Show the emergency button selector with three values:

ValueWhen the button is visible
NeverThe emergency button does not appear on the kiosk
Only Shabbat and Yom TovThe button appears only when the kiosk is in Shabbat mode β€” useful to give congregants a way to call for help even when the touch interface is disabled
All the timeThe button is always visible, normal mode and Shabbat mode

5. Default donation buttons

Default buttons field: this is where you define the preset amounts that appear large on the screen (for example 10 €, 18 €, 36 €, 180 €, Other amount).

The component lets you:

  • Add or remove buttons.
  • Choose a label (numeric amount + short text).
  • Reorder the buttons.

6. Displayed funds management

Funds management selector with two modes:

Automatic mode

If you choose Automatic, the kiosk automatically displays all the active funds of your organization. A new fund created appears immediately on the kiosk without your intervention. A disabled fund disappears just as automatically.

This is the recommended setting if you want to simplify management: a single place (the Funds module) to control what appears everywhere, including on the kiosks.

Manual mode

If you choose Manual, a Transfer component appears with two columns:

  • On the left (online): all active funds not yet chosen for this kiosk.
  • On the right (on the kiosk): the funds you want to display on the kiosk.

Select the funds on the left then click on Add to move them to the right. The main cash register ("Main cash register") is also available in the left column: add it if you want to offer a donation to the general cash account, in addition to the targeted funds.

7. Validate button

Validate button at the bottom right of the form. Click when all changes are ready. A notification confirms the save. The kiosk applies the new configuration on the next connection: depending on the sync pace, count from a few seconds to a few minutes to see the changes on screen.

Lifecycle of a donation on the kiosk

To fully understand the impact of your configuration, here is what happens on the donor's side:

  1. 1

    The congregant approaches the kiosk

The screen shows the wallpaper you configured, with the preset amount buttons and the list of funds (according to your automatic or manual choice).

  2. 2

    They choose an amount

    Either a preset button (10 €, 18 €, 36 €…), or Other amount to enter freely.

  3. 3

    They choose the destination

A displayed fund or the main cash register. If only one destination is configured, the step is skipped.

  4. 4

They present their bank card or smartphone

Contactless (NFC) or Apple Pay / Google Pay.

  5. 5

    On-screen confirmation

A thank-you message appears. The donation is immediately recorded in Unisoft.

The payment appears in the Payments module with the source identified as kiosk, the amount, the fund (or the main cash register) and the date.
