Subscriptions and Pledges KPIs
Pour :Administrateur
Below the Payments block, the dashboard displays two blocks tied to recurring commitments: Subscriptions (recurring payments) and Donation pledges. These two modules track installment contributions and give a vision of the predictability of your collection.
Subscriptions block (6 indicators)
Subscriptions are the automatic monthly direct debits (or other frequency) signed up for by donors.
The 6 stat cards
| Stat card | What it measures | When to consult |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly total | Sum of amounts of active subscriptions reduced to one month | Gives the recurring collection forecast for the next 30 days. |
| Active subscriptions | Number of ongoing, uninterrupted subscriptions | Tracks the recurring donor base. |
| Collected this month | Amount already collected via subscriptions since the 1st of the month | Checks that the direct debits went through. |
| Remaining to collect | Amount expected until the end of the month | Shows what must still drop by month's close. |
| Total cancelled sub. | Cumulative sum of revenue lost on interrupted subscriptions | Measures erosion over time. |
| Nb. cancelled sub. | Number of cancelled subscriptions (terminated, expired, failed) | Detects a spike in direct debit failures or unsubscriptions. |
How to read these figures
- Monthly total > Collected this month + Remaining to collect is rare and abnormal. If you see this, it's likely a failed direct debit wasn't retried.
- Active subscriptions dropping sharply = a direct debit problem at your platform (Stripe, GoCardless…) to investigate.
- Nb. cancelled sub. abnormally high this month = check if a payment method update (card change, expiration) wasn't requested from your donors.
Donation pledges block (3 indicators)
A donation pledge is a quantified commitment by a donor (e.g. Daniel Cohen commits to giving €1,800 over the year). It is then settled via one or several payments.
The 3 stat cards
| Stat card | What it measures | Reading |
|---|---|---|
| To settle | Sum of ongoing pledges that are not yet settled in full | This is your order book — what should come in. |
| Settled | Sum of payments already collected against pledges | Measures the conversion rate of commitments. |
| Total pledges | Cumulative total of commitments made (settled + to settle) | Gives the overall size of the system. |
How to read these figures
- The Settled / Total pledges ratio is your fulfillment rate. Above 80% you have a very reliable base; below 50% you need to follow up.
- To settle is significant = collection potential to activate (follow-up campaign).
- If Total pledges stagnates month over month = no new pledges taken. It may be time to organize a campaign or a fundraising event.
Currency: common to both blocks
Like the Payments block, all figures here are in the currency of the organization selector shown at the top of the dashboard.
- Pledges or subscriptions in another currency are not converted or summed.
- To see a specific currency, switch the selector (« All Associations in $ », « in £ », etc.).

What to do concretely with these figures
| Symptom | Recommended action |
|---|---|
| Remaining to collect > 30% of Monthly total at the 25th of the month | Check failed subscriptions (expired card, invalid bank details) |
| Nb. cancelled sub. rising vs previous month | Filter cancelled subscriptions and launch a reactivation campaign |
| To settle Pledges > 3 × monthly amount collected | Launch an automated follow-up to committed unpaid donors |
| Settled / Total pledges < 50% | Reformulate the commitment journey (perhaps too many commitments made lightly) |
